what is the process behind your reviews?
Bottles that we review typically come from our own personal collections, stuff that we try when visiting our favorite whiskey bars, and the occasional sample sent from distilleries and brands. When reviewing a bottle provided by a distillery or brand, we will always make note of this in the review, and it will never sway the outcome of the review. We tell it like it is.
Please keep in mind that reviews and their subsequent scores are subjective (here’s how we calculate them, FYI) – you may disagree with our scores or find you don’t get the same experience our reviewers did. That’s fine – everybody’s palate is different.
Our goal with reviews is to simply offer our opinion and give you the information you need to decide whether or not it is something you should spend your hard earned money on.
CAN WE BUY ADVERTISEMENTS ON THE WHISKEY REVIEW?
The short answer is… maybe.
The longer answer is… it depends. If you have a product or event that is complimentary to the whiskey industry, let’s have a conversation about it.

HOW CAN I GET MY WHISKEY REVIEWED ON YOUR SITE?
The Whiskey Review welcomes whiskey, and other related product submissions for review. You can ship your product to our office address above. Note: we prefer standard, unopened, 750ml size bottles… but will review minis or sample bottles if standard bottles are not available.
There are no fees associated with submitting your product for a review and financial compensation is not accepted for coverage outside of any sponsored posts which will always be clearly labeled as advertisements.
If you submit a product for review, please know that negative reviews sometimes happen, and that our review will always be an honest assessment of your product. It is not our goal to hurt the business or the feelings of beverage producers, but our ultimate responsibility is to our readership — not the manufacturer.
